Phoenix Hobie Fleet 66

Welcome to Phoenix Hobie Fleet 66

Phoenix Hobie Fleet 66 is a group of catamaran sailors who participate in or sponsor events locally (Lake Pleasant and Lake Roosevelt) and nationally (Mexico, California, Nevada). These events are focused around the regatta (or race). Other events include family fun sail weekends with other catamaran sailors. Hobie One-design racing places a skipper and crew against other skippers and crews on the same make and length of boat. Hobie Fleet 66 has sailors from novice to expert. Fleet 66 is a member of the North American Hobie Class Association (NAHCA).

Fleet 66 sponsors the Cinco de Mayo regetta the first weekend in May 5 - May 6, 2018. Our event is held in Puerto Penasco, Mexico or Rocky Point. The whole fleet works together to put on the event which includes two days of races, a dinner on Saturday night, and raffle prize drawings to help pay for the regatta expenses. Check out the pictures from last year's Cinco de Mayo regatta 2017.

The next Division 2 race is Lake Havasu Regatta, 3/24-3/25. This event is sponsored by our sister Fleet 51 in Nevata. In addition to participating in NAHCA Division 2 events, the fleet also sails with multihull Fleet 42 and the Arizona Yacht Club on Lake Pleasant. There are several events on the calendar in January - April including the Tall Cactus Regatta, Sunday, 4/29/18.

If you're interested in learning how to sail a catamaran; interested in meeting other sailors; interested in learning how to tune your boat; or don't have a boat and want to crew on a catamaran; check out the schedule for event dates. If you decide to become part of the club, we ask that you contribute $25 annually. The money helps pay for the webpage. If you begin to race at the Division 2 regattas, you will want to join NAHCA for $25/year. If you are just crewing or a new Hobie sailor, don't worry about the dues.
